Dating Resolutions!
It’s December kids, which means many of us are thinking about making some changes in the New Year. So we’ve decided to put our thinking caps on to help you out a little in the resolutions area. Sure the standards like quitting smoking and recycling more are great but let’s get a little personal, let’s improve our game in 2008. Let’s get RedHot!
Sweat it out for a hotter you
Go get that gym membership; you know you’ve been talking about it for years. Even though it may not be as enjoyable as DVDs and raw cookie dough you must remember that the pain and sweat is ultimately you time. Nothing in this world comes for free and although the first few weeks might really test you, the rewards are totally worth it. Any idiot knows, half and hour in the gym three times a week is going to improve your general health and well being, but let’s not forget, when that toned body starts to take shape, you’re gonna be getting a lot more attention… and that ain’t bad.
Date outside the box
Sometimes we get so caught up in the dating game that we don’t realise that we have fallen into a boring routine. You may have spent 2007 chasing the same sort of guys or you may have taken different girls to same old place for a first date – whatever your dating rut, it’s time to shake things up in 2008. Ever wondered what it would be like to date a bad boy? Or to do something truly adventurous on the first date, like sky diving? Before you go in search of your next ‘special someone’ take some time out to think about the type of people you normally date and open your mind up to the possibility of meeting someone you wouldn’t normally consider – this might mean taking a risk, but isn’t that what dating is all about?
Talk to that crush
You know who we’re talking about here, the cute little bank teller that cashes your pay cheques every week, or maybe it’s that funny guy at the record store… we all have our secret flames and there’s no point getting to the end of our time on this little planet with a bag of regrets. No-one likes rejection but it’s the stuff that makes the successes so much sweeter. So suck it up and go ask your crush out for a drink. Don’t be afraid to explain your situation. “Look, I want to be a bit more outgoing this year and I’ve been wondering if I could buy you a coffee sometime”. See how easy that is. They might say ‘no thanks’, but they might say… ‘sure’.
Travel in new circles
So many of us from time to time realise that whole reason we don’t meet anyone new is largely due to the holding pattern we seem to fall into with our social circles. Sure we all have our friends and we all hit the town now and then but when you think about it, unless you are expanding your horizons socially there’ll be no fresh talent entering your world anytime soon. So mix it up a bit, grab the entertainment guide, what’s on? Check that gallery opening or maybe try live theatre. There are band’s and clubs nights left right and centre so maybe get along to some live music events. Anything to break away from the norm and meet that one person that might make all the difference in your life should be embraced in 2008.
Go shopping for love
A change is as good as a holiday; well if you apply that logic, a change of threads should be as good as a day or to at a luxury health spa… A new wardrobe can put a substantial spring in your step and go a long way to projecting the kind of image that may very well start attracting the opposite sex. But don’t think it ends there, looking outwardly sharp will also do wonders for our self-image and sense of worth, and then what does that do? It makes us more positive, chirpier and generally more pleasant to be around… again, all pro’s in relation to the opposite sex. You can see how a new jacket can snow-ball into a budding new romance with that cutie you’re yet to meet!
Get passionate about food
Have you noticed how each of your potential romances have been really promising, right up until you bring them home for your family recipe goulash… If you haven’t faced up to the fact that you can’t actually cook then maybe 2008 is the year in which to accept the harsh truth. Don’t look at this as a negative but a wonderful opportunity to get your hands dirty and take a few classes. It’s widely known that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but guys… serve up a Schezuan Spiced Duck Breast with some Blue Cheese Gnocchi, Sautéed Spinach and Whisky Scented Jus and see how quickly the ladies start to swoon.
