Don't Restrict Yourself to Sexual Labels
Hi,
I'm a 23 y/o woman with a problem. I've always considered myself straight, I've had a couple of boyfriends, but lately I've been wondering if maybe I might actually be lesbian.
One of my friends recently introduced me to another friend of hers, Kate, who's a lesbian. Kate is absolutely stunning, and when I met her I remember thinking how gorgeous she was, and I couldn't stop looking at her all night. She's also a really lovely person, and we got on very well.
My problem is since that night I can't seem to stop thinking about her, through our mutual friend we have met up several times since then and every time I spend the time fixated on her.
My question is, how do I figure out what I really am, and what do I do?
Thanks,
Confused.
Stop right there!!! It's a sad reflection on society that we all seem to feel it necessary to label ourselves. It is incredibly destructive and confusing to our psyche and what's more, rules out so many potentially great future possibilities. Throughout our life we are bound to come across all sorts of people who we are attracted to. Humans are the only species that insist you pick a side. All other animals have no problem snuggling up and having sex when the mood strikes male or female. Bonobo apes who are more than 98% genetically identical to humans, base their whole culture on mutual enjoyment between the sexes.
You have to remember that sexual feelings are based on chemical reactions within the brain and will ebb and flow over time due to a wide variety of varying factors. I suggest you relax, have some fun and enjoy the variety of fruits but please, please don't stick a label on yourself. Society forces us into enough boxes without us making up more for ourselves.
