How To Meet Someone Special

Submit Comment
I really need help. I have been trying to find a girlfriend and it is not working out with me. I even tried the net and it is still not going well for me.

Can I get some advice on how to meet that special someone?

Note: I am a decent looking guy but I am too shy to ask out any girl because I don't like the feeling when she answers no.
Two very important things I get from your question. First you need to remove the desperation tag. Women can smell it 10 miles away and almost always find it a huge turn off. To do this you need to do whatever it takes to remind yourself that with or without a woman, your life is fine. It may take a little time, a little practice and a little bluffing but it is vital you go out with a 'comfortable in your skin' attitude.

Second, take action to beat your shyness. Think about it - if you want to learn to drive you take lessons, if you want to learn to ski you practice, overcoming shyness is no different. Your brain is wired to react a certain way to certain stimuli and situations, we need to re- train it and that takes making different choices and a conscious effort like learning any new language.

Do a course that teaches you to overcome your fears, throw yourself into something that would normally frighten you. Let's face it how scary really are the letters N.O? - Even the hottest guys in the world get regular 'no's', the difference is for the confident guys its just a numbers game - they look at a 'no' as a valuable lesson in the tactics of how to approach women and one step closer to a 'Yes'.

Try doing the same. Once you've conquered this shyness, get out there by doing courses where girls might attend, keep your eyes open when you're food shopping or renting a DVD and of course ramp up your effort online, contact those girls you like with a quirky and interesting message. With women it's all about slowly breaking down the 'stranger barrier', once she's seen you a few times at the supermarket and you've said hi, or you've chatted to each other a few times online, women are much more likely to say Y.E.S.
