I Slept With My Best Friend
I'm a woman who's had a male best friend for years, we've always been very close, but it's only ever been as friends.
Recently we went out and both got really drunk, and as usual I ended up crashing at his house. But unlike usual, somehow we ended up having sex. I was so drunk I don't even remember how it came about, but the sex was bloody brilliant.
We had been out drinking because he was leaving the next day on a much-anticipated holiday for 3 weeks, so I haven't seen him since it happened. But I don't know what to do, I love this guy as a close friend and don't want to lose his friendship, but I don't want a relationship with him.
What do I do now??
You may well find he is away thinking exactly the same thing. This kind of thing happens all the time and the most important thing is - Don't stress!
When you next talk to each other turn it into a huge joke. Don't be weird about it or avoid it as this will cause a wedge in your relationship. Imagine you had done something really silly and embarrassing like throwing up on his best shoes and talk to him about it like that. "Oh my God did we really do what I think we did?? Ooh how embarrassing hehe, how bad are we giggle giggle? Jeez we must have been toasted....."
Then get right on with whatever you would normally do. You'll both have a laugh, a fond memory and be able to get on with having a great relationship.
