Scoring a second date tips
Posted by: UnderbellyMan Date: May 05, 2008
Hi Dating Gurus,

In last couple of times, I have gotten the first date (usually coffee) and I also got the girl to agree for second date (movie or somthing like that) before the end of the first date. I was asked to give her a call.

The problem is that the second time, I am always getting the answering machine and I have tried several times. I am NOT very comfortable leaving a message and waiting for the return phone call but the last couple of times I did leave a clear message about arranging a second date as planned but I never got the return call. This was within 2 - 3 days of the first meeting. I was better off prior to these incidents by not leaving a message and instead getting the person on the phone.

One of the girls showed up at my fitness center (she has been a member over this fitness center for few years before we met for coffee) after a month or so and was trying to get my attention instead coming over saying "hi" to me - somewhat of a tease...

So what went wrong after they agreed to meet for a second time? Why was I getting the answering machine only? I do understand since we met only once, there was no commitment and she could have met with others also. Was she screening phone calls? Is it good idea to leave a message in the begining and expect a return phone call?? What should I do better next time?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Some girls are cowards

Yeah, I'd say some girls do screen calls but it's also a cowardly way to avoid having to do the second date thing.
Some girls think a second date is a possibility but go home and decide that they aren't attracted enough to go through with it and the answering machine is the easiest way to avoid the hassles of explaining it. I think some girls agree to a second date as they don't want to offend. It's entirely possible to enjoy a first date immensely but if there is no real click between two people, it's best to leave it. Just a shame that some girls can't put that to practice.
