and somehow it seems, oddly how it should be
Sassy Australian singer and songwriter of alt folk-pop/experimental/melodic popular songs for piano, acoustic guitar, celtic harp and omnichord. I am currently also working on several collaborations including an electronic duo and an alt classical/folk trio with songs on classical harp and cello. I have also been known to dabble in folk-rock, cabaret, latin-jazz and avant-garde comedy/parody. Music is so important to me.
Most recently I toured Europe in the Spring with a 5 piece band. My fave shows included Rome (so much red wine!), Copenhagen, Hannover and London. Most of the time I write about real people. I might even write a song about you if you excite or terrify me enough. People say I sound a little bit like Tori Amos or Kate Bush. I take that as a damn fine compliment. I am most comfortable with myself when I am on stage. I live for my music as well as going to live gigs when I can. I love the moment when I realise I have just discovered something new and exciting and I quiver with pleasure.
Late night dessert adventures rock; especially in New York City, London, Melbourne or a new place yet to be discovered.
I relish random train/bus travel in foreign cities, with a picnic lunch, holding hands; and in this moment I won't let go.
Right now I am not looking to fall in love as I just came out of a serious relationship and need time to grow and reflect. I want these next few months to be joyful, beautiful, simple, adventurous and rich but I wouldn't mind getting lost in you for a little while and you in me. That would be lovely.
I have a weakness for scruffy pretty boys in suits and messy pretty boys who play alt folk music, folk-rock, spoken-word or electronica. Canadian men make me melt. I dig accents. I think Henrik Skanfors' brand of rugged bearded singer songwriter in a suit is hot. and I have a serious crush on David Tennant's Doctor Who. I am a vegetarian, aiming to be vegan and mostly raw. I love animals dearly and I have a cat called Reece who is big and orange and sometimes I wake up and he is asleep with his head on my pillow. I admire my friend who is an animal activist and dedicates her life to saving animal lives and making the world a better place. I want to make it better too, and sometimes I do.
I am 32 but I look younger. I am a natural blonde. I want to try out brown soon too. I think that sometimes kissing is more hot than going all the way. I like chocolate martinis. I kissed a Danish boy in Copenhagen, in a cosy bar at 3am. Most of my relationships have been with women. I want to get to know men more. I am moving to Nelson BC in Canada in January and will be living in a cabin surrounded by mountains. I would like to travel through Lappland by train. I really like messy hair.
